An Apology and an announcement: 58 days to go (more or less)

This is just a quick apology post, I know I've neglected the page recently I am not particularly happy about that.

I don't think I've mentioned it on here, but we are now 58 days away from our little girl getting her (a baby not a dog). Were here at Smooth Pixelater are supper excited about this, and I just cannot wait for her to arrive. Once she's here we will definitely see an upturn in the content posted on here (I mean that is once we've found our routine).

Until then I will be endeavouring to get our weekly diary up and going again. Until then here is a picture of our cloth nappies :)

We're back and with an introduction too!

Well, I'll be the first to admit it's been a while. Life has been up and down, and I've just not managed to find the time to post on here. I don't really want to go into too much detail about it, but I'd just like to say that we here at Smooth Pixelater HQ are happier than ever. We'll be getting back into our regular rhythm soon enough, and it won't be long until it seems like we never even left.

So with that, I've got a quick note, at some point, I have managed to delete a load of the pictures that we had on here. Don't ask me how because I'm not entirely sure. I will be trying to get them all back, I think I've got them all saved on my other computer, but this might take some time so please be patient in that respect.

Finally, I'd like to introduce you all to the newest member of Smooth Pixelater: Adora (or Dora for short). Dora is roughly 5-years-old, and is a rescued Swedish Vallhund from Romania. We rescued her in September of last year, and she's made great strides with us already. When we got her, she couldn't walk on a lead or even use stairs, and we've devoted time and effort to teach her that she can do these things and that she can trust us. I'm excited to see how she develops in the future.

New Years Resolutions

The New Year is nearly upon us and we thought we'd layout the plans for the coming year. We are hoping to carry on with some old favorites as well as trying out some new ideas.

Returning Features:
+ The Pixel Diaries - The weekly windows into Pixel's life and and everything going on at Smooth Pixelater HQ.

+ The Monthly Treat box Challenge - Each month Pixel receives and reviews a treat box. An easy way to put several products through the paces.

+ Treat vs. Treat - The highly anticipated and hotly contested competition returns to find out which treat is the best treat.

New Feature:

+ The Diet Diaries - Pixel raw in the new year and we take a no nonsense look at raw feeding and how it compares to other options. A weekly round-up.

+ Short Stories - A monthly story that features the adventures of Pixel and Friends.

+ Podcasts & Vlogs (maybe) - Something I've considered doing before and most likely would be released on an ad hoc basis. Definitely not promising anything but it is something we want to try.

We are back!

If moving house isn't stressful enough, the Pixel HQ moved 300 miles from Kent to Somerset. As anyone who has ever moved house knows, it is bloody stressful so we decided it would be best to take a break from  the blog and focus on settling in.

We are pleased to announce that everything is unpacked and the dog has settled nicely in his new home, so we are ready to stop tart posting again.

Expect the return of your favorite series:

• Pixel Reviews (Including Toy-Box Tuesdays and Tastey Treat Thursday)
• Wordless Wednesdays
• Treat vs. Treat (The first series ended in a no-contest as several of the treats were mysteriously eaten during the move. As such a new series will be beginning soon)

Our plan is also to branch out into making video content, posted on here and on YouTube.

Pixel has a baddie-paw

Feeling sorry for himself.

Pixel is feeling pretty sorry for himself this morning. While on his walk, running about like a lunatic, he has managed to hurt his carpal pad (the ones a little up the front legs). It looks worse than it is, it's only a small cut with some of the dry skin coming away with it (although Pixel is acting like he might have to lose the leg).

For the time being we will keep an eye on it, making sure that it stays clean and healthy. If it begins to get worse, or he won't leave it be, I will bind it so he can't get at it (we might even have to use a sock...). All I know sure is at moment I have a rather unhappy looking doggit.

Thank you for keeping me company

While I sit at the breakfast bar and do some work, poor Pixel was left standing aimlessly at my feet. After having him distract me with his constant pacing while I was trying to do some work, I have decided to be nice and move one of his beds into the kitchen while I work.

He has be sitting there napping for the better part of two hours, happy as can be.
