Who are we?

Pixel

(aka Smooth Pixelater, aka Sir Barksalot, aka Weasel-Face, aka Pixie, aka Pixelpants)
Our first meeting with Pixel.
Pixel is a 5-year-old lurcher who was rescued from Battersea Brands Hatch in August 2014. Originally given to Battersea when his previous owner was no longer able to look after him and provide him the exercise he required. Pixel was then re-homed but unfortunately, things did not work out and he was returned to Battersea.

Pixel did not do well in the kennels, a lack of stimulation led to him developing a habit of spinning. To avoid this behaviour becoming more prominent, Pixel was moved from the public kennels and placed into seclusion. Pixel would then remain in the kennels for 3 months (with the average dog remaining in the centre for 30 days, many much less).

Out for a lovely walk.
We went to Battersea Brands Hatch with the intention of viewing Pixel after viewing him on their website (then under the name Lightning). When walked around the kennels the dogs and our hearts sank when Pixel was nowhere to be seen. Nervously we approached the reception desk to enquire about the beautiful Apricot and White (genuinely the colours he is listed as) dog we wanted to meet. They informed us that he was still available but that he was considered a difficult dog, before we could view him that wanted to interview us.

Thankfully we passed the interview, and they brought in the bundle of furry energy. Pixel was insane, he marked on everything in sight. He climbed onto the table to get at the treats and he leaped at the window to try and look out. We took him out into the fields for a walk and we fell in love with him.

Finally ran out of energy.
We went back the following week and brought Pixel home. In the house he was a completely different dog. After two days of walks his energy was spent and he finally began to relax.

Adora

(aka Dora, aka Dorapants, aka Dora the Explorer, aka Little Crocodile)

Dora is a 5-year-old Swedish Vallhund rescue from Romania. We brought her home in September 2016 and she's quickly become a part of our little family. We don't know much about her past, only that she previously lived on the streets.

Dora's hobbies including acting like a crocodile, chewing on antlers, and barrelling into you like the tiny little cannonball that she is.

Christopher

(aka Ginger, aka Hooman)

I am a 27-year-old layabout, writer and avid dog fan. I was brought up around a huge number of dogs, such as Dobermans, Rottweilers and Lurchers. I've also had a terrier-mix, two lurchers and collie-kelpie prior to getting Pixel.

I want to share my passion for dogs, and spoiling dogs with everybody. I use this blog to make you all jealous of my dog, and share the products that
we enjoy.

Poppy

(aka Poppadom, aka Lemon Popsicle, aka Git-Face)

Poppy is a Collie-Kelpie mix pushing on to 11-years old. Ever Pixel's friend, she inherits anything that Pixel doesn't particularly like. Occasional tester, and always ready for a walk, Poppy brings excitement and energy to the Smooth Pixelater team.

  1. Hi Chris,
Sorry to bother you, but I wondered - after searching without much success - how to get in contact with you over email? I can't seem to find an email address - perhaps I missed it? Is it better to get in touch over Social Media? Do let me know.

    Many thanks,
    Sartika
